Garlic Oat Crackers

GARLIC OAT CRACKERS
100 crackers or about 1/2 pound of crackers

1  cup rolled oats
1/2  cup warm water
3/4  cup flour
2  Tablespoons oat bran
1  Tablespoon sugar
1  teaspoon garlic salt
1/4  cup butter, softened

Instructions
1.  In a small bowl, combine the oats and water; let stand 5 minutes.
2.  In a medium bowl, combine flour, oat bran, sugar and garlic salt; blend well.
3.  Using a pastry blender or your finger tips, mix the softened butter into the flour mixture until the mixture is crumbly.
4.  Add in the oat mixture and with your fingers or a wooden spoon combine the mixture until it is well blended together.
5.  If necessary, add more water by teaspoonfuls until mixture holds together.
6.  On a lightly floured surface, knead dough gently 5 or 6 times.
7.  Form dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap.
8.  Refrigerate overnight.
9.  When you're ready to make the crackers the next day, Preheat the oven to 375°.
10.  On a lightly floured surface roll dough out until quite thin. (16"x20")
11.  Cut the dough into squares with a pastry wheel or pizza wheel.
12.  Transfer squares to an ungreased cookie sheet.
13.  Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes or until the edges brown slightly.
Be sure to stir the crackers around once or twice during the bake time to keep the crackers that are on the outside edges from burning.
