BUCKWHEAT BUTTERMILK SOURDOUGH PANCAKES

8 ( 4 inch ) pancakes

 

 

¼  cup active sourdough starter

¾   cup buckwheat flour ( use the buckwheat flour from Natural Grocers)

¼   cup flour

½  teaspoon baking soda

1  Tablespoon baking powder

2  Tablespoons sugar

Pinch of salt

1 egg

¾   cup diluted canned milk, warmed   ( or 1 1/3 cups buttermilk )

1  Tablespoon melted butter

 

 

Mix all the ingredients together in a medium bowl.

Use a measurement of about 1/3 cup per pancake.

Cook on a griddle or in a non stick skillet, that is set over medium heat.
