¾  cup sugar
3-4 medium bananas, sliced
2  eggs
½  cup buttermilk
3  Tablespoons applesauce
1  cup flour
¾  cup whole wheat flour
¾   teaspoon baking soda
½   teaspoon salt
¾  teaspoon cinnamon
1  teaspoon vanilla
1/2  cup chopped nuts
For the Glaze:
1  Tablespoon butter
  cup powdered sugar
3  Tablespoons heavy cream

1.  Preheat oven to 375°.
2.  Lightly spray a glass loaf pan with cooking spray.
3.  Melt the butter in a medium iron skillet over medium-high heat.
4.  Add in the sugar and bananas; sauté for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5.  Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
6.  In a large bowl, with a wooden spoon, combine the remaining ingredients along with the caramelized bananas.
7.  Stir until well combined.
8.  Pour into prepared loaf pan.
9.  Bake at 375° for 55 – 60 minutes.     Wooden pick should come out with moist crumbs clinging.
10.  Cool 10 minutes.
11.  Loosen from sides of pan, remove bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
12.  Make the glaze by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2 minutes, or until butter begins to brown.
Watch carefully so that you don’t burn the butter.
13.  Remove from heat and add in the powdered sugar and heavy cream.
14.  Stir with a whisk until smooth.
15.  Allow glaze to cool for 5 minutes.
16.  Drizzle glaze over bread; pour through a sieve if you still have sugar lumps.
17.  Let stand until glaze sets.
